Why won't marshmallow let me define my sd as internal.

A

AC Question

1. Samsung Note 4 verizon running Marshmallow.
2. Brand new high speed samsung sdhx.
Shut down the phone. Installed brand new high-speed card.
Power up phone and was told I had a new portable storage sd. No option given to change that.
Opened "settings", no "usb&sd" option.
Opened "storage", it showed "internal" and "portable" storage.
The only options were "format" and "unmount". Choosing format simply reformas it as, wait for it, portable storage.
At this point I'm ready to root the silly thing so I can at least remove all the bloatware.

So this is a problem I'm going to have whether I stick with vanilla marshmallow or jump to dark side marshmallow (cmod13).
Hmmm.
I rooted my Note 8 (kitkat), partitioned the sd card, and used app linker and app mover programs to run apps and store their data from my sd. Works fine. Tempted to try this one the note 4.

Be very careful with what you do with a Verizon device. You won't find rooting so easy with the locked bootloader. Before you attempt anything have a look over on xda to see what can and can't be done
