battery life

I got Straight Talks LG Premier Lte phone. I can't figure out how to save battery life on it. Is there anyway you can do manual data pulls on facebook anymore? Ive turned off apps i don't use and froze them. I put my screen brightness down and off auto. I have limited my gmail to manual data pulls. I don't use any antivirus, cleaner or any monitoring programs.
