Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has rapid battery drain & also shows messages about overheating!

this started happening about 8 months ago up till then it was fine.

What can I do to solve this problem?. Also, could you let me know if it is possible to change the battery and if so what would the procedure be for this?.

Yes you can replace the battery, but its an advanced topic and not to be done by a tech novice. Here's a video on it....

You might be better off just contacting Samsung and/or finding a authorized repair location.....
