How to import pictures from DSLR to Samsung tablet?

I have ano adapter so I can plug my canon rebel t5 into my Samsung tablet, but once the device is connected all I see is an empty gallery folder and no options to look for photos. Is there a way tI do this without rooting my device?

If the camera saves in RAW format you may be out of luck. Can you put it to a computer and then transfer from there to tablet? There are apps on playstore that handle raw etc, so it may be worth your while to have a hunt around first...
