How to sync new device folder on Google Photos

[Android Central Question]

I have a Galaxy S22 Ultra and when I create a new device album using the Samsung Gallery app, it does not automatically sync to Google Photos as it did with previous phones. I have to physically change the location of the album from Internal Storage/DCIM to Internal Storage/Photos. Is there a way to default new albums to sync on Google Photos?

And before asked, yes my sync setting is on. All existing photos and albums sync, it is just when a new device folder is created.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you prefer not to use the Google Photos app itself? And when you talk about a new device album, do you mean an actual directory on the phone's storage containing the photos, or is this an album designation that only Samsung Gallery can see?
