How do I setup my Gear S2 so that I can leave my phone at home and still receive calls/text?

I read a post stating the following:

"With the Gear S2 3G version can I leave my phone at home and receive phone calls, answer phone calls, send and receive text messages, get notifications, play with certain apps, etc?"

I've spent hours trying to figure out how to do this and I've not been able to. I know it should be easy. I have a Gear S2 paired with a Note 5. My Gear S2 is a 3G with its own phone number.

If the gear device has its own number, you could forward your calls to that number from your phone
