Hi, I have an s5. Why am I not receiving messages from apps until I open the app?

Like I mentioned in the question, I've tried everything and I'm still not getting notifyed until I open the app. What do I do now?

Have you checked for data saver features being enabled for those apps? It sounds like the app isn't being allowed to use data in the background. It's also possible Doze is causing the app to not get updated.

Do you have background data turned off? That's sort of the point of turning off background data. You save power by not letting apps access the internet when they aren't open, hence they can't receive messages.
