Contact name shows up when she sends text message but not when she calls?

I'm pretty sure my boyfriend has deleted his crazy ex from his phone contacts. I see her number pop up on his display all the time when she tries to call him, only her number and not her name, which makes me think he deleted her from his address book. Good!

But she also keeps texting and every time a new text comes in, I see her name on the display. Is it possible to keep someone as a contact only for texts and not calls?

I know this sounds ridiculous. Thanks in advance for any help.
