Files don't populate in Android File Transfer in Mac

Hi-
I'm trying to use AFT to transfer photos from my Samsung Galaxy running 5.x.x to my Mac running Yosemite 10.10.5. The AFT in Finder shows all my folders but there's no content in the folders, so I can't access the photos to perform the transfer. Does anyone have a solution?

Try Commander One, a great alternative to Android File Transfer that works great with all Android devices.

Neither of those will work if you don't pull down the notification shade and change the setting from charge only to one of the file transfer modes.
