Why won't my month & 1/2 old Samsung Galaxy S7 unlock with my fingerprint anymore?

I am on the AT&T network and I have the same issue as you Verizon customers describe. I think it's the phone, not the provider.

There are several things that may cause your fingerprint to not work anymore: home button may be dirty; if your fingers are cold, damp, very rough & dry or have a scratch on it may cause your fingerprint not to work; recently using hand lotion may even cause your fingerprint not to work. When I have run into this problem and correcting all of the above has failed, I re-set up my fingerprints.
