Why can I not log into the Youtube App?

Hi, I have a bit of a strange issue when I go into the youtube app. The videos themselves load just fine, but I had an issue earlier this morning where I had to clear all data fron youtube. Now whenever I go into the "Log in" option on the app, I get a "Please check your network connection tap to retry" error. I have tried clearing the data on the app twice, uninstalling updates, and restarting device. Help!
