My S6 phone can't read my fingerprint and I forgot my password please help

Welcome to Android Central! You forgot the backup password? How have you been starting your phone up? As an added security measure, if you use the fingerprint unlock, the phone will still ask you for your backup password in certain situations (like when you boot up from a powered off state).
