Phone app still there after removing phone.apk

I've removed phone.apk and the telephony.apk. I've noticed that I still get the icon in my status bar that I have no signal, and my phone app is still in my app drawer and when I click on it, it brings up a dialer.

When I check battery usage, I don't see any phone app using battery. Did I do something wrong when I deleted the apks? Am I missing something?

How do I get rid of the phone app?

Why would you delete the phone apk? Either way some system files are stubborn and can't be removed. Titanium pro usually does a better job at this stuff. One thing you can do is rename the apk files to .bak. It will not delete them but it will stop them from running and showing up in the app drawer.

That's normal. The app and signal icon will stay there.
