I've installed youtube and Flash 10.1.
I can see the youtube site, but I keep getting the message.

There was a problem while playing. touch to retry.
Click on it and message comes right back...

Tried viewing via the browser, same error.
In Fennec it shows a box for downloading a plug in but doesn't navigate to one.

Regards,

Mike

Cook is using mobile version of Youtube. The videos on that are designed for phones for tiny resolutions thus the quality is really poor on the Nook.

Tried that, no luck. BTW does it have to be the version that came with the image. I did update the youtube software in an effort to get it working.

The youtube app won't play on Nookie yet. It requires hardware acceleration, which the dev is hoping to get going for the next update. I think there's an entry in the Nookie tips thread with the best work- arounds.

I saw this in the work around link.

I. You can open a browser that allows for User Agent switching, switch to Desktop UA, and go to Youtube.com. If you've installed the Flash apk mentioned earlier in this thread, it should play videos (probably with some choppiness though).

I tried a few different browsers, which one allows for User Agent switching?

After some additional finagling I was able to get youtube to work on a browser.
When I tried to go to mobile youtube, no dice.

Is this the same issue as the youtube app? I thought mobile youtube used HTML5.

Does Nookie not support HTML5? Or is this a DSP issue?
