OTT M8S (v6) - can't get into recovery mode , can't add a google account

Hi,
I got this old Android box that my kid wants to use so that he could use the Youtube app on an plain LCD TV.
The box won't go into recovery mode - I keep pressing the reset button while plugging in the power, so the logo comes on, after a few seconds at the bottom right corner is says "rebooting" , it reboots and goes into a loop where I see the logo again and it reboots again and again.
I also can't add a Google account. I tried every possible solution I came across, like removing the data and cache from the Google Play app etc.. Nothing works. I can't add an existing account or create a new account.
Is there any other way I can get this box back into factory mode?
I should say that the the apps I once installed like chrome browser are working. Ethernet is working too.

Welcome to Android Central. I saw some threads on XDA Developers forums related to that TV box. I'd suggest looking there, since we're not really familiar with these TV boxes here. Good luck.
