Can't use touch screen during a call

I’m sure there is a really easy answer to this but, I can’t find it. When I’m on the phone and I need to pull up the screen, to enter an extension or something, I cannot do it. I can push the power button but that disconnects the phone. All I can come up with is to plug in the charger which quickly turns the backlights on. What am I missing?? I appreciate your help. Thank you in advance

You need to set the Power Button to NOT hang up the phone call. Then when you press it, the screen will come on during a call.

Under Settings -> Accessibility

Thanks. Phone calls are the things I do least on my Razr. Curious as to why the default would be to not have the dialer accessible during calls?

Edit: maybe it's not the default. I just looked on mine and the option to have the power button end the call is not checked.
