Help with my bluetooth headphones!

OK I have a question for the android community. I have a nexus 6 and Motorola buds Bluetooth headphones. When I get a call or notification with the headphones connected I get the sound out of the phone speakers and the headphones. How do I just have it come out of the headphones.

Have you tried pairing them all over again?

yes i have any it still does it. even in my wifes car with bluetooth stereo it does it

My note3 does the same thing..I wish it didn't.
