Handcent or Chomp support Google Voice?

When I got my Evo 3D, I gave my old Intercept to my daughter. She uses it on our home wifi for the facebook app and as a glorified mp3 player. It is not activated on Sprint at the moment (it will be her birthday present in a couple of months). I set her up with a google voice account that she uses to text. Is there anyway to use a different messaging app to receive her google voice texts? The UI on the google voice app is just crap IMHO.
