Android global Search device priority?

When hitting the search key from the homescreens, Is there any way to force android to search the local device before searching the web?

I'm used to webOS and how it'd list all the local stuff before trying to go to the web. This is mostly a problem with people, as from what I can tell, apps show up first. People only show up if I've tapped their name in the history.

I could disable web search, but I'd rather not. Have I missed something?

It already does this for me. Go into search settings and make sure you have all the searchable items enabled.

they are, but my contacts show up after web searches. unless i've clicked on them before.
