Turning an e-mail attachment to ringtone

I received an attachment through an e-mail and would like to use it as a ringtone. It has (m4r) after name of file....I have an htc shift. I really need help....football season starts saturday and I reallllllly need this ringtone!!! Thanks for any help!

With most Sense based phones, If you save the attachment in a folder on your SD card called /music or /ringtone then bring it up in the music player there is a menu option to make it a ring tone. Then it will appear in your list of available ringtones in the Phone settings.
