Hello,
I have a Sidekick 4G and I have used SuperOneClick to root my phone. It succeeds in doing so. However, when I open root explorer and mount as rw, it fails. The button doesn't do anything. Superuser won't grant it permissions either. Idk what I'm doing wrong. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this issue? I tried rerooting and same problem.

Do you have a super user app installed?

Also, download termination emulator and type su (then press enter)

You should see a # if you have root access.
