Why aren't I getting all of my text messaging notifications?

texting notifications has changed

Why do I only get one notification on texts ever since this upgrade I have to go off of texting to know if they've sent back something otherwise my phone does not notify me...is there anything I can do that will notify me with every text.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone, and which update? Are you talking about the fact that you won't get a notification if you have the Messaging app opened to the conversation? That's standard on a lot of messaging apps, since it's presumed that if you have the app opened to the conversation, you can see if the person has responded.
