Android 5.1.1 Round Icons

I just recently got the new update to android 5.1.1 and I don't know why, but the app icons for Samsung apps are circular while others for Google, etc remain rectangular as they were, pre 5.1.1. I think this looks disgusting, is there anyway to change the circular ones back to what they were pre update?

Not unless you download another launcher. Or you download one of those apps that changes the icon for the homescreen only like awesome icons, but this will only change the icon in the homescreen not in the app drawer.

You could also download a theme, I recently downloaded the Trinity theme on my phone which has the icons almost the same as before with a few different colors and is quite a nice change because it also removes all that white from the stock apps so it is actually easier on the eye's.

I didn't install any launchers or themes, this happened when I updated to 5.1.1

I know that. But in order to change those icons you would have to download a launcher and then download an icon pack or use a theme to change them.

Actually, just download Awesome Icons, Icon Changer and then search the Play Store for {style of choice} icon packs. No need for a launcher.
