alarm clock horrible mp3 quality

Hey guys. I am using t mobile mytouch 3g slide. Since the stock alarm clock doesnt have an option for mp3 i downloaded one from market. I tested it out and the mp3 was the worst quality ever. I downloaded several more and they were all the same. I have my phone hooked up by the headphone jack to a nice sony soundsystem. I am able to play music this was and have always done it like that. The music does not sound like that regularly. The sound that comes out is just.... flat, no bass, no treble nothing. Is there a fix to this or is this it? I am writing this from my phone so sorry for all the mistakes and such.
