Desktop/Mobile viewing with various browsers

This is probably a dumb question but I haven't been able to find an answer on here. I am having trouble viewing some websites in desktop mode (including this one) with the Dolphin HD and Opera mini browsers, even after I change the necessary settings. Is there any reason for this, or is this still a 'buggy' feature with some phones, with the Android OS, or with some specific browsers? I'm new to Android so don't have enough user experience to understand the flaws our bugs with these types of things.

For reference, I am using a Samsung Charge...not rooted (yet).

Some browsers require either a restart of the browser or the phone to get the user agent to change. I'd try that first.

The AC mobile site does have a link on the home page for the full version of the site.

Thanks. That sounds about right. It worked after I restarted, which is slightly annoying, but at least I know now. Hopefully these types of things will be made more efficient in the future.
