good replacement contacts app?

my sister in law just got the nexus 5 and is looking for a replacement contacts app/ dialer. all the ones that we have tried are great except will not let you edit the contacts, what the heck. is that because the update disabled the ability? any help would be awesome.

ExDialer let you edit the contacts after 4.4.4 update. Check out the free version, if you like it go for the prime version.

Contacts+ is worth a look, as is Ready (though Ready is in a Beta status and you have to join the G+ community to get a link to download it.
