Clicking on URL links within POP3 emails received - via stock Email App - does not open the URL

Well the title explains my problem, I hope.

If I get a POP3 email on my Desktop PC - and that message contains a URL, I just click on the URL address and magically the linked website opens.

But if I try to do that on my Nexus 5 with KK 4.4 and the stock email App, nothing happens.

I have to write the URL down on a piece of paper, close the email App then type the URL myself in the address bar,

Is there a fix please ?

Weird. Clicking the URL in my stock app works as expected.
Can you long press to select the URL and then copy?

Er its working now OK. I will keep testing over the next week But I will try your suggestions also, Thanks
