Ambient display doesn't work?

When I first got the nexus on 5.0 it worked fine but now on 6.0.1 it really seems it no longer works?

Working fine on mine. Please check if it had been disabled in settings by default

On android 6.0.1 Ambient display doesn't work AT ALL? Seriously, it hasn't worked once since the update.

My Nexus 6 updated to 6.0.1 a few weeks back and i have noticed no difference with my ambient display. All seems to be working fine on my unit.

Hi Everyone

I'm having exactly the same problem after upgrading to 6.01. It all worked fine before.

After searching the web it seems this problem occurred last year also when people upgraded from 5.01 to 5.1. Most said the problem was the screen protector interfering with the sensor. So it seems the cure maybe going back to previous system or removing screen protecter.

Neither of which I want to do!! So it seems we're stuck - unless anyone has any other suggestions?
