I have a rooted Nexus 7 which I don't use often - I prefer my ARM Chromebook.

The battery ran right down and I thought it was not charging. I changed the USB lead and I saw some scintillation of the screen and the backlight seemed to be on. Ah, it's charging now, I thought. After a while the black screen with "Google" and the lock appeared. I left it overnight.

I can now turn the Nexus on and off with the hardware switch, but the touchscreen is unresponsive. The lock shows "unlocked", but the Nexus is stubbornly inactive.

Any advice?

Edit:

A factory reset, maybe, using the hardware key-presses?

I have no data to save, and after much fun exploring the Tablet I put it to one side for the Chromebook. I don't need it rooted.
