Black screen with Static HELP

My Nexus 7 is my baby. I have had it for four months and would rather watch the world burn than part with it. This morning when I plugged it in to charge it after a week end camping trip, all I got was the Nexus X for 30 minutes followed by a black screen with static that had occasional colors with it. After calling Asus, hoping that they would stand behind their product, they told me that I would have to pay $350 before they'd do anything for me.

Help me Android Central, you're my only hope!

Thank you, it did help. My Nexus is charging and I think it will survive this encounter. Have a androidful day.
