N7 2013 as 'laggy' as N7 2012?

Is there anyone out there that had a laggy N7 2012 who can comment if the N7 2013 is 'quicker'? I can't take the lag on the 2012 anymore and am considering upgrading to the 2013 in the hopes that it's better. I am just waiting to see, if by chance, Lollipop will improve things on the 2012. Just wondering if anyone can shed some light...would hate to get the 2013 and just have the same lag issues.

Yes, I've tried that and total system reset. Always gets it a little faster, but within a week or so gets super laggy again. So much worse than my phone - a GS4 - that it makes me prefer to just use my phone over the tablet.

Nexus 9 is too big for me. Love the 7 inch form factor.

The 2013 Nexus 7 has no lag. I have both the 2013 and 2012, and the 2013 has remained quick and responsive, while the 2012 is comparatively slow and laggy. It's hard for me to tell if the 2012 got slower, or if it was always like that, and I just didn't know any better back then.

My 2013 Nexus 7 has no lag. But after wiping my unit and installing 4.3 my 2012 did not have lag either. You might want to see if one of your applications has an issue and is clocking a lot of cycles.

2012 had issues with the storage controller when it was above like 80% full. The 2013 doesnt have this storage controller and is much better. The screen alone was worth the new model. I would suggest making sure you have a decent amount of free space on your 2012 and possibly a factory reset if you have never done that.
