A few questions about my new nexus player.

I just picked one of these up. As soon as I started it I was able to install Kodi and Es explorer from the Kodi without any side loading or anything. Is this normal?

My machine is on 5.0 I'm afraid to update it because I don't want to break the Kodi install. Will updating break what's installed on the machine already?

is there a thread someone can point me to that shows how to hook up a hard drive and point Kodi to it. Thanks.

Running Kodi on 5.1.1 with no issues. A standard OTA update should never wipe any data for you .

I only tested external drive with OTG cable with ES explorer, really easy and read files with no problem. Didn't try Kodi yet.
