Unofficial Charge Time Test: Pixels vs Nexus

Yesterday I charged the 5X, 6P, Pixel and XL for 40 minutes each and checked each one at 20 minutes and at the end. Surprising results here:

Does the phone take into account the amount of charge left to decide on whether to quick charge or not? It might be more helpful to start the test from 0% charge (phone turns off) for all phones.

Generally quick charging ramps up quickly if the battery level is low and then slows the rate of charge as it charges so to be more precise better to charge them all from a similar beginning level.

I thought that it would - however they're all gaining incredibly similar mAh per second, regardless of starting point. What I was expecting was for the 5X, since it started at 10%, to have the most gain in the first 20 minutes, but it was actually the regular Pixel that had the highest increase in the first 20 minutes. Next, I would have expected the XL, starting at a lower charge than the 6P and having 18W supplied to it rather than 15W, to increase faster - but in the first 20 minutes they increased the exact same amount.

Each was using its own stock charger.

The XL and Pixel have an 18W max charge from their included chargers and the 6P and 5X have 15W max. But they all charged at more or less the same rates, in terms of mAh per time interval.
