Why are my Pixel screen colors are muted and dark?

I noticed about a week ago my Pixel screen colors and photos are all dark and muted on the phone. However, when looking at the images on Google Photos online, the photos look to be the right colors. How do I get my phone colors back to normal? My reds are showing up as a brick red or brownish red. Any idea what I could have done to mess up my colors?

Have you enabled Developer Options in Settings? If so, there are some settings there which can affect your display (Simulate color space, for one), possibly others. I would begin by disabling all Developer options and see if that makes a difference.

Also, make certain that Night Light mode is not enabled (Settings -> Display -> Night Light).

Finally, Brightness level (Settings -> Display -> Brightness level) set too low can certainly have a muting effect on screen colors. I usually keep mine at about 45%.

Yet another option: Settings -> Accessibility -> Color inversion (make sure it is off) and Color correction (likewise).
