Need advice from cyclists

So I'm starting to get pretty serious about cycling, and I'd like to get a cycling computer but don't want to needlessly spend money. Now I've found some cycling apps from the market; I'm finding that sensors, specifically cadence sensors, are must less abundant. Has anyone found any? How satisfied are you without the use of any external sensors?

Try using the MapMyRIDE app. It tracks the route, distance, speed and more in real-time using GPS. Its a free app.
