Try rebooting phone then.

Settings>System Updates>Software updates.

If it is not there try selecting Firmware updates instead of software updates.

Yes, the factory reset often helps, and it's always a good idea before and after major updates. Also it is true that you need a certain firmware update before you can update Android to Gingerbread. I don't recall the number of the FW build you need.

I'm with TOMASANDERSON above....even if you find it, DON'T update. Been using my phone for a year and since the update it has been a nightmare. Endlless reboots, freezing on GPS, freezing on the camera, 5 factory resets in just over a week, formatting the SD card a few times, cleaned out cookies, caches, unchecked fastboot, updated profiles...removed all apps, widgets and bookmarks except for a few native ones.....many people are having problems.....HTC sense issue apparently from the latest I've read. Sounds like HTC is working on it, but again, from what I've read, they said that over three weeks ago and nothings happened yet. Alot of people would love to roll back to the previous version! Enjoy~
