Nexus experience on Evo?

Hi all,

I got tired of the HTC/Sprint branding of my EVO and would like to have the vanilla Nexus experience (we have two Nexus's in our household and I have the only EVO).

What are my options and what are the down sides? (I don't care about 4G, VC camera, etc).

I am looking for a legal and fool proof conversion process.

Root it and put on cyanogen mod, rooting is not illegal and I assure you you will NOT regret it. The speed and general quickness is unbelievable besides the vanilla experience is great.

Only thing is 4G, and HDMI do not work yet but I'm betting they will within 6 months.
