Transferring Data to New SD Card

I just got a new 16GB microSD card for my EVO. I want to transfer everything on the existing 8GB card to the new one but I want to do it right.

Can I take out the existing card, insert the new blank one and format it? If I do this, do I have to reboot before the format?

After formatting, can I just hook up to my PC via USB and just copy everything to my new card.

Are there any hidden directories on the card that Windows may not copy?

There really is no right/wrong way to do it. First, copy the old card to your computer, edit/add/delete whatever you do not want on the new card, then copy that to the new card. That really is it.
