New Gmail App has a mute button?!?!

Idk maybe I missed something but the new gmail app has an eyeball with a mute button? Maybe we might be getting video chat SOMETIME in the near future.

but to add, we already saw video chat being worked on for the Motorola tablet by google so it'll come sooner or later. I don't necessarily think this is related to it though.

i think it's to "mute" the email conversation if you don't want to be alerted.

Am I missing something? I don't have a mute button where that's located. I am updated to the most recent Gmail app.

I ran a Gmail update this morning from the market and cleared all my cache and didnt see anything different until I rebooted

How do you update gmail?
It's not listed in my marketplace downloads for updating.
Do I just reinstall it over what already came on my phone?

market> menu> downloads> find gmail> update. you are updated to to 2.2 froyo correct?

ok i got a newbie question but i see gmail app and yahoo mail app....so whats so good about useing them versus the email thats already on the phone?

The mute button in Gmail has always been there for me on my phone.
