Anyone else ever have this issue?

When I had my Hero, my battery life sucked - straight up (mainly because i was always using it... and service where i work was hit or miss)

Well, I'd randomly pull it of of my pocket to find the phone shut off due to low battery, and it would be on the recovery screen with something to the effect of

"Phone factory reset complete"

hated the fact the home + end/power button brought up recovery...

No, never had this problem. I don't see how this can really happen either since the phone needs to power off, then power on while holding home. If the phone died to due battery loss, then it shouldn't have too much juice to stay on in recovery, nonetheless accept the prompts to factory reset.

Perhaps you should look into a holster solution to prevent this from happening.

it managed to do it every single time, now its just a tip for anyone that still has the hero (being as I upgraded)

recovery manages to consume less battery - no need to connect to network or anything. it stayed on long enough for me to look at the phone and realize it was being hard reset...
