Replaced Phone...transfer apps and files

Hi all,

New to the forum. I have replaced my MT4G with a new one. Most of my apps and files from my old phone I stored on my SD card. Now that I have the old SD card installed in the new phone, how do I access the files and apps? I downloaded a file manager and it reads the SD card, but when I go to manage applications from the settings menu of the phone, the SD card menu is blank. Any help with this would be appreciated.
