Squeezing HTC U11 from car vent clip

In my car I have a air vent clip that holds my phone by its sides. Since Edge Sense is pressure sensitive instead of capacitive, my vent clip will be squeezing the phone nonstop! Wondering if this feature can be turned off, or should I get a new phone holder for my car? Would be cool if a squeeze and hold would enable drive mode.

If I'm not mistaken, the 'squeeze' function is not mechanical, so unless your cradle is fully conductive (which it shouldn't), you should be fine. The sensitivity, at least from what I've seen, is also customizable, so maybe there's also a way to turn it off. If there is and for some reason your cradle is an issue, you can try padding it with non-conductive foam or just have Tasker turn off the feature when it detects your car's BT (if available).
