Why am I not able to make calls via my G Watch?

hi all,

been having a few calling issues as of late from my G Watch. everything worked PERFECTLY until I received my update (5.0 Lollipop) both on my wearable and my G3. now when I try to use the command eg 'ok google, call home' it types it up on the screen correctly (call home) but then pops up another prompt window saying 'to whom, sorry didn't catch that'

this is becoming increasingly frustrating as I rely on this feature whilst driving

I haven't changed any of the settings or deleted anything that I think could of affected this so am stuck with what to do now... has anyone experienced this or got any suggestions on what I can try other than a reset?

don't know for sure but do you have to set up "home" somewhere? I havent messed with phone numbers but I know I had to set up home/work locations so "navigate to..." would work.
