Will changing the temp setting on my Stock G3 fix the lag?

Stock G3-Does changing Temp. Settings really fix lag

I have a stock G3 D850 and I seen that u can go into the Developer Menu and change the Temperature Settings and it will fix lag/ make G3 faster...
Is it true? Does it work? AND
Will it void my warranty??
