Updating ROM

I have a question according to update my Rom. Maybe this is stupid but no body born knowing, so this is my question...Each time I update my ROM (ThundeRom 1.6.2 --> ThundeRom 1.7.1) do i need to wipe, clear cache and all that as I do in the beginning when i first put my Rom??

ThundeROM 1.7.1 is based on LS670ZVC, while 1.6.2 (and below) is based on LS670ZV9.

As a result, upgrades from 1.6.2 to 1.7.1 will result in the dreaded "hands-free activation error" that many people experienced. I suggest you unroot, return to stock, upgrate to VC using the LG Mobile update tool (available here), install custom recovery, then flash TR 1.7.1.

It's a little bit hectic of an upgrade process, but it's definitely worth it IMO.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to reinstall the custom recovery. Thanks for the advice. Looks like I'm in for another hour worth of work.
