Listening to audio via USB-C

I'm having issues w/BT audio skipping in my vehicle (F150 w/SYNC 3), so I tried getting the audio to play through USB. It's worked fine w/other phones (most recently iPhone 6 Plus) but I can't figure it out with the USB-C. Can anyone help me out? I appreciate it.

When you plug it in through USB does it give you options to select what you want to use the USB for? You should see this when you drop down your notification bar. I personally haven't tried it but was wondering is that pops up for you.

It does. There are 5 choices; just charge, charge connected device, transfer files and use as MIDI. I tried the MIDI option but that didn't work.

It works with android Auto but I'm not sure if its through the USB without Bluetooth.

Does your car have standard 3.5" plug input? If so, you would be better off using that

No, unfortunately there's no aux.

If you're using spotify, you can not use spotify through your usb connection on a car.

It might be app limited.
Might have to search for an app that will allow it to use the usb-c port as a player.
Transfer files will probably play songs found on you phone but probably wont stream music.
