That depends on the priority Verizon gives to each brand/model. If they use a first in-first out methodology, then shame on HTC. If it's purely preferential on Verizon's part, then shame on Verizon.

I picked up a PNY 64 GB UHS-3 card for cheap on Amazon and formatted it as internal memory. So far I haven't noticed any problems with latency. Any media on the phone is duplicated elsewhere, and as far as I'm concerned, the card won't be coming out of my phone anytime soon.

A Windows 10 PC, because nearly all my writing and publishing software is geared to that platform. Otherwise, I use a Nexus 7 (2013) and an HTC 10.

I blame Digital River more since they are contracted to handle order fulfilment for HTC. That said, HTC should have learnt their lesson from the disastrous Vive rollout. If that debacle wasn't enough reason for them to kick Digital River to the curb, I don't know what is.
