Well, I'm happy to report that this problem now seems to be fixed. I just had some update within the last week and now all text messages are waking up the phone again.

Anybody else having the exact same problem where a recent Samsung Galaxy update resulted in text messages no longer waking up the phone?

I really appreciate all of your suggestions, mustang. Unfortunately, Safe Mode didn't help. However, just for the hell of it, I installed Textra, set it as default and it does wake up the phone.

What do you mean by "safe mode"?

My settings are exactly the same, except for I choose "show content" on the lock screen.

Unfortunately, despite everyone's suggestions, my S22 still doesn't wake up with a text message.

Subject says it all. Prior to the Android update yesterday, text messages always woke up the screen and showed as a pop-up. Now, I just hear the alert sound and then see the notification on the AOD. I believe I've tried everything, but I would appreciate any input on how to fix this. Thanks!

SOLVED: Clearing the cache and data in the Yahoo Mail app did the job. I tried clearing cache only before, but this time also clearing the data fixed my problem. Thanks for the suggestions.

Although I considered contacting them, and I appreciate your suggestion, unfortunately I believe it would be just a waste of time. However, I did leave a review for the app in the Play Store. Maybe someone will offer some feedback there.

re: Yahoo Mail notification shade missing "Mark as Read" option. Same thing on my Galaxy Tab S6. When it also happened on the Pixel 4, I thought it might be a T-Mobile thing but my Tab S6 is WiFi only.
