Unbranded Tablet - Updating it or use

I have an unbranded tablet at home running ICS, wondering what I could do with it and also would it be able to be updated to a more recent version of Android?

Initially given to us for our son, but it's really slow and laggy and terrible for anything really.

You might be able to stick a custom ROM in there, but you'd need to know the make and model.
Presumably you've done a Factory Reset? If it runs poorly on ICS, it would probably be as bad or worse on anything later.

Yeah complete reset when it was given to us, it's been sat in a cupboard for months, it's that bad, even the screen response is poor. Son was lucky enough to get a kids fire tablet for last Christmas, so he's getting good use out of that.

Unsure what to do with it really, I don't think it would be of any use to anyone
