My moto G will not update. Bootloader unlocked so Motorola say it has voided warranty. Fair enough. How do I go about completely wiping it and installing new firmware? Have looked online and am just a wee bit confused by it.
I know a method that turns the device-wiping feature off, but I have only tried it on my Moto G. Go to your Settings app, tap Security, scroll down to the Device Administrators section and click View or deactivate device administrators. If you see it, uncheck Device Wipe Policy, and you're done.
You most probably tried to install a custom recovery (not to be used with a custom ROM). In this instance factory wipe or anything wont bring it back. Flash stock rom again, use method 2 by paul o brien of modaco.
